Meet Michelle King
Michelle King, AGACNP-BC, PMHNP-BC
Certified Clinical Trauma Professional
Certified Grief Professional
Michelle King earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Texas A&M University and
began her career as a Hematology-Oncology Registered Nurse. She went on to earn her Master
of Science in Nursing from The University of Alabama and became board-certified as an Adult-
Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. She practiced as a Hematology-Oncology Nurse
Practitioner in rural Maine before moving to Atlanta, Georgia, to complete an Advanced Practice
Provider Fellowship at Emory University’s Winship Cancer Institute.
Throughout her years caring for patients with cancer and their families, Michelle came to
appreciate the profound impact that mental and emotional well-being can have on a person’s
experience of illness and overall quality of life. These experiences led her to pursue a more
holistic approach to healthcare—one that recognizes the interconnectedness of the mind, body,
and spirit. She earned her Post-Master’s Certificate in Psychiatric Mental Health from Augusta
University and became board-certified as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
While continuing her work in hematology-oncology, Michelle has expanded her practice to
include psychiatric care and has earned certifications as a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional
and Certified Grief Professional. She has a particular interest in caring for postpartum mothers,
law enforcement officers, first responders, and military service members. She strives to provide
thoughtful, individualized care that allows every patient to feel supported, understood, and cared
for as a whole person.
